Educated at the California College of Arts and Crafts, and the University of California, San Diego, Carolyn’s background includes both the arts and sciences. She holds a B.F.A. in Industrial Design and B.A. in Visual Arts. Carolyn has lived, studied and worked in the United States and Asia. Her design work has been exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Carolyn Wang founded her glass studio on the belief that the art object and the utensil seek to be one. Through color, balance, and composition, she designs objects to delight and also evoke the possibility and versatility of use. The properties of glass as a medium further embed each piece with the qualities of light. Reflection and transmission are integral to the design and allow the work to capture another variable and dimension of play.

Carolyn is committed to the environment and thus chooses to create products with longevity and produced from recycled materials. Each piece is individually handmade and signed. She has received commissioned projects and her glasswork is also featured in galleries.
